Our answers to your most frequently asked questions
Ideally, we advise you to plan 3 to 7 months of preparation. For example, for an integration in September 2022, it is a good idea to start looking into the interview process between December 2021 and April 2022. Don't worry, our teams are used to supporting candidates who have much less time. This will involve working more intensively and being very attentive to the various feedback and advice from our coaches in order to make rapid progress. At the most intense pace, you need at least 6 weeks of preparation to reach the level we think you need to get internship/permanent offers within the top 6 strategy consulting firms.
Depending on your available time, we advise you to organize your preparation in 4 steps:
1) Preparation of the application (1 to 3 months) : here, the idea is to talk to as many people as possible from the consulting firms you are aiming for. Carefully take notes during each exchange. This networking will be very useful once you apply and when you want to prepare for your FIT. We can help you organize this step (questions to ask, note taking, contact techniques). Successful application preparation will have a definite impact on the rest of your process.
2) Application (1 to 2 week (s)) : here, the idea is to prepare your resume and cover letter in order to pass the screening stage for each firm targeted. We can also help you establish an application strategy to place your interviews intelligently and allow you to gradually gain momentum. Some basic rules must be respected and we can obviously provide you with examples and support you on this.
3) Apprenticeship (1 to 2 months): Here, you have to practice as much as possible on various case studies in order to be able to approach any problem in a calm and structured way. This is the perfect time to develop your Business Sense by creating summary sheets on the various industries of the clients of the firms concerned (which you can easily find on their site). When it comes to FIT, the aim is to prepare your answers to the most likely questions and start mastering them. This phase generally lasts between 4 and 12 weeks. We recommend interviewing firms that you do not particularly want to include at this stage, in order to reach the interviews of the firms in question by already having 2-3 interviews under your belt.
4) Acceleration and perspective (3 to 6 weeks): At this stage, you are not surprised by any case studies, even the most original ones. You are also able to propose approaches that are perfectly adapted to the client's objectives, while being as less academic as possible. You master all the dimensions of the case study: clarification, analytical questions, business sense questions, Drive, the conclusion. As far as your FIT is concerned, you have already validated your written answers and ideally have already tested them in a few interviews to adjust them. You continue to repeat them (yes, even in the shower) in order to be able to respond as naturally as possible on D-Day. We advise you to do sports, sleep well and eat healthy throughout your process in order to arrive in the best conditions at the interviews that matter. If you don't work, nothing will work
There is no magic answer to this question. This will depend on your starting level and your ability to assimilate and act on the feedback so as not to repeat the same mistakes again. In more than 5 years of experience and after having coached more than 600 candidates, we have never seen anyone get an offer in MBB with less than 20-25 case studies in real conditions. Your first 15 cases should allow you to master the key skills on which companies will assess you, such as synthesis skills or analytical capacity (learning stage). Once you are more comfortable, you can focus on solving the case itself in the most efficient and elegant way possible. You can then strengthen more advanced skills such as drive, the Business Sense or creativity. We recommend that you start training as soon as possible.. There is no better way to achieve the level of preparation required to get an offer at the best firms than to get started. Our trial lesson with an MBB coach (2x1h) will help you in this awareness.
The answer is a big yes. Candidates are more and more trained (watching Victor Cheng's videos and reading the Case in Point is unfortunately not enough/more) and have access to more and more quality resources (Casecoach, Prepastrat). These resources are sometimes considered expensive by some candidates with whom we talk. On the cabinet side, the selectivity bar is also always higher. It is also very difficult to identify on your own the specific points on which one is judged during these interviews. Our coaches allow you to see much more clearly and to know exactly where to focus to work on your side and get the firm you dream of! For each question and each moment of your future interviews, we will teach you a Process to be followed rigorously. As with 99% of our candidates, you will be surprisingly surprised by the results. Trust the process.
The masterclass takes place once a month, 100% remotely. You will be coached for 32 hours over 4 weekends by our senior consultants McKinsey, BCG and Bain. It has been designed for candidates finishing their studies or already in a professional carreer. These profiles do not have time to prepare during the week and want to speed up their preparation by working everything necessary to start the application processes.
The dates of the next masterclasses are specified on the website. We generally open applications 4-5 months in advance. If you have any doubts, our team will answer any questions you may have.
Payment for the training is made in several installments. Payment methods vary depending on the city where you want to apply, do not hesitate to contact our team for more information.
The price varies according to the season and our promotions. Do not hesitate to contact our team for more information.
Standard individual coaching will follow the same framework as a recruitment interview with the best consulting firms. You will start with an exchange of motivations (FIT) of 10 to 15 minutes before continuing with a case study — that was given in a real MBB interview — for 35 minutes. You will end up by receiving a highly detailed feedback to know exactly what you need to work on to reach the level required to ace in your interviews.
The price varies according to the time of the year and our promotions. The prices for individual coaching are decreasing. The more you book at once, the lower the individual coaching price. Generally, our candidates need at least 10 coaching sessions to feel ready. Do not hesitate to contact our team for more information.
