The best strategy consulting firms in 2023
- McKinsey (1,003 points) : unsurprisingly, and despite busy political news, McKinsey maintains a very good image among students.
- BCG (987 points): BCG, which recently moved and changed management to support its significant growth in France, remains particularly attractive, in particular for its expertise in issues related to data analysis and digital technology.
- Bath (939 points): Again, unsurprisingly, we find the “3rd” MBB in 3rd position in our ranking. Renowned for its unique corporate culture and its expertise in Private Equity, Bain remains a “must” for graduates of the best schools in France.
- Oliver Wyman (852 points) : a strong comeback by the firm in 2023, surely the result of efforts made to maintain a link with the various campuses, as the survey respondents told us.
- Roland Berger (827 points) : firmly established in 5th place, Roland Berger remains very attractive to schools, with a slight image deficit among engineering school graduates.
- Strategy& (ex æquo - 827 points): The strategy branch of PwC, formed after the takeover of Booz & Hamilton in 2014, confirms its positioning in recent years. Already regularly ranked in the European top 5 by professionals, the firm manages to rise to the same place in terms of recognition of graduates from Grande École.
- EY-Parthénon (744 points): Great performance by this firm, whose reputation is also linked to the historical presence of the Big 4 on French campuses.
- Kearney (667 points): This World-renowned firm is back in the race with this 7th place, in particular thanks to the recognized selectivity of its recruitment and its ability to adapt to the war for talent. In particular, several respondents were attracted by the establishment of a program to award shares for young consultants.
- LEK (547 points) : very popular among the three largest business schools in the country, LEK has succeeded in correcting a previously slightly moribund image. The particularity of the missions and the mode of collaboration (work “in the bedroom”, Due Diligences On niche sectors) clearly called to several of our respondents.
- KPMG GSG (368 points) : same comment as for EY-Parthénon on the fame of Big 4. The firm seems to have fallen in the 2023 ranking due to the low volume of recruitment observed in 2022.
- Deloitte monitor (355 points): The strategy consulting arm of Deloitte closes our top 10. Its reputation and reputation have made it possible to make a difference with other firms mentioned, such as OC&C, Kea & Partners or Arthur D. Little.
NB: Our pollsters told respondents that this was a question of ranking strategy consulting firms and not management consulting firms, in order to avoid confusion that could distort the results. The strategy consulting firms that appear in the ranking were selected by the StratMachina editorial staff, in particular on the basis of feedback from our coached candidates. Other criteria such as the actual consulting activity with C-levels, their dynamics, their size in France and their seniority could be retained.
