What career path at PMP?
- At the junior consultant stage (1 to 3 years of experience) :
- You are directly attached to a sectoral cluster in order to accelerate your employability on projects. The firm's approach, here, is to facilitate your skills development on the subjects of the division to which you are attached. This connection will not prevent you from working on projects from the firm's other divisions, but it does involve finding out about the division (or the 2 divisions) that interest you the most before applying.
- Here, the idea is to put your analytical rigor and your creativity to good use on various projects that will allow you to learn the fundamentals of the profession while being supervised by an experienced team
- Regular evaluations of your managers will allow you to identify and work on areas for improvement, in particular in order to prepare for the next grade.
- In terms of relay, you will benefit from an official relay - the referring partner - who oversees your professional progress and a more personal relay - your counsel, a trustworthy and caring person to help you navigate between the various pitfalls of consulting life.
- At the senior consultant stage (3 to 5 years of experience):
- The connection logic presented above remains the same. It will not prevent you from working on various projects, including other areas.
- PMP senior consultants are junior members of the firm or candidates recruited after one or more professional experience (s) and who demonstrate a capacity for analysis and synthesis, real autonomy and a spirit of initiative to move projects forward.
- The regular evaluations and relays described above are also valid at this stage. Remember: feedback is breakfast for champions!
- It should also be noted that the firm trains its employees at each grade transition, to enable them to better understand the fundamentals of their new functions. In addition to these one-off training courses, consultants are continuously trained in a range of tools and concepts to maximize their “employability”, i.e. the range of skills useful on the firm's projects.
- At the manager stage (5 to 8 years of experience):
- The firm's managers have solid professional experience in consulting or strong expertise in its sectors of activity. They know how to supervise teams and intervene with decision-makers of the firm's clients on strategic issues.
- At this stage, candidates, once they have demonstrated their mastery of the fundamentals of the profession, generally want to invest in the firm's business development, especially if the ambition is to be promoted one day to be a partner of the firm.
- Training and career development resources are similar at this point. Your colleagues will always listen to you even if you are expected to have more professional maturity.
- In addition to these courses, each year PMP organizes what they call the Managerial Innovation Meetings, thematic conferences for managers on various themes, involving interlocutors who are experts in their subjects. You can find out more about these meetings by clicking hither

How do I join PMP Strategy?
Recruitments are made by applying to a specific division of activity. For example, if you want to join PMP's digital practice, send a cover letter and resume to rcautela@pmpstrategy.com. When applying, you can ask for exchanges with a maximum of 2 poles. Then nothing is fixed in time. You will be able to work in other areas. You can also request mobility in other areas. If you don't know which division to apply for, you can apply to careers@pmpstrategy.com.
When to apply?
4 to 6 months before the desired entry date. The firm integrates new hires all year round, except in summer (July-August)
What recruitment processes?
- 4 to 5 one-hour interviews
- 1 case studies for each interview related or not to Practice With which you are in the process
- You meet at least 1 partner from the division, 1 person from another division (informal meeting) and 1 manager or partner from another division
- For an intern position (Analyst)
- 3 interviews with at least 1 case study
Note that most interviews will be in French, except in London. You will be tested on English during a tour but very rarely during the entire interview.
What are the preferred profiles in recruitment?
For interns, the firm generally targets the second half of the gap. The first few parts are rarer. PMP Paris generally has a team of 10 interns throughout the year. They prefer selective schools (top 5-6 post-prep business schools). They are more open to engineering schools). Several of the firm's consultants also come from Dauphine, Sciences-Po, and schools abroad (EPFL, Bocconi, HEC Montréal, Kings College)
For experienced candidates, recruitment is more open.
What are the qualities and skills PMP is looking for?
PMP is looking for consultants who can assume the required level of requirement and excellence, while focusing on 6 qualities :
- Excellence
- Requirement
- Awakening
- Pragmatism
- Empathy
- Listen
You can find out more about the profiles sought by the firm and how they define each of these 6 qualities by consulting the section “Who are we looking for?” from the career area of their site by clicking here.
Why choose PMP over other firms?
- Accelerated learning : you will be attached to a division of activity as soon as you start working at the firm, including as an intern. This allows for accelerated specialization on your subjects. This connection will not prevent you from working on the projects of other PMP clusters.
- Customer exposure : you benefit from customer exposure from the start of your career at PMP. No work in the bedroom (unlike a firm like LEK for example).
- The human size of the firm and its culture : With 120 consultants, it is easier to build relationships with your colleagues, for example with sailing and running clubs that are very active
Conclusion
PMP is an excellent choice if you want to join an ambitious and human-sized strategy consulting firm, recognized for its expertise in the fast-growing telecom sector since its creation.
